METHODS OF THE BURDEN MATERIALS ACTIVATION WHEN THE FOAM GLASS-CERAMICS MANUFACTURING

Abstract

The foam glass-ceramics is produced by means of both the opalchristobalite rock and the sodium hydroxide burning at850 °C, the methods of the burden materials preparation are presented in the article. The basic properties of the material samples were investigated in relation to the burden's preliminary hydrothermal treatment both under the elevated and atmospheric pressure. The correlation between the methods under investigation and the burden's silicate module change, also the influence of the silicate module's on the material's average density decreasing, as well as the consumption of the most expensive component ― the sodium hydroxide were determined.
