Abstract

The structure and current status of the refractory industry are regarded in the article. The activity of the worlds leading corporations in the refractory field is described. Two different trends (optimistic variant and low case) are given for the development of the situation at the refractory market. The reasons of the lasting crisis in the refractory industry are indicated as well as the measures the European refractory manufacturers undertake to overcome the crisis are mentioned. Several innovative «forgotten» developments of Russian scientists on the refractories are offered. Ill. 3. Ref. 11. Tab. 1
