Abstract

Powder materials based on zirconium dioxide are widely used in refractory ceramics and thermal barrier coatings. Composite powder 3 YSZ (3 mol. % Y2O3) was synthesized by hydroxides co-precipitation method from zirconium oxynitrate solution with preliminary addition of sulfate ions for reducing the grain growth rate during precipitation and increasing powder specific surface area. For removing sulfur impurity the powder of stabilized zirconium dioxide was calcined at 1050‒1200 ˚C with subsequent wet grinding. Powder calcination temperatures were selected for reducing sulfur content and performing effective grinding. Ill. 4. Ref. 20. Tab. 1.
