

Physical and mechanical properties of concrete produced with modified superplasticizer

Abstract
The physical and mechanical properties of concrete modified with superplasticizers based on polycarboxylate esters were studied. The primary focus was on the development and optimization of concrete mix compositions containing import-substituting superplasticizers made from domestic raw materials and secondary materials. Initially, the effect of the superplasticizer SDj-1 on the normal consistency of the cement paste was investigated using a Vicat apparatus. The optimal content of SDj-1 in the cement paste was 0,6 % of the cement mass. The effect of superplasticizer SDj-1 on the workability of the concrete mix was determined by the slump test. The results of experimental studies showed that the use of superplasticizer SDj-1 significantly reduces the watercement ratio and improves the rheological properties of concrete mixes, which in turn leads to increased strength and durability of the concrete.
